Many learners seek to improve their spoken Polish. Most students recognize that sitting in a classroom and learning Polish does not necessarily enable them to speak it with confidence and in a way that is easily understood. Learning Polish in the classroom is useful, gives the student the important fundamental facts of Polish grammar and sentence structure. However, this cannot give you the confidence that comes from constantly speaking the language.
Immerse yourself in Polish. This immersion helps the brain internalize the language. Join an Polish class. Tell your family and friends that you are going to speak with them in Polish. Listen to Polish-speaking radio. Watch Polish or American programs on TV and go to see Polish-speaking films. Speak Polish every day.
Use the internet to find helpful resources and links to chat groups. Send emails in Polish and surf Polish websites. Listen to Polish audio books when resting or driving. Listen to music with Polish lyrics.
Speak Polish aloud while doing anything. Join and Polish-speaking club. You may be able to find one at your local university or start one yourself. Visit Polish restaurants where many of the employees will speak Polish. If possible, visit an Polish-speaking country.
Record yourself reading an Polish short story. Listen to this repeatedly.
