Windows
Vista and Windows 7 offer a small tool to easily make screenshots and to edit
them partially:
To do this,
go to:
- Start> All Programs> Accessories>
Tool capture
- Or type SnippingTool or capture
tool in the search bar of the start menu.
Several
shooting modes are available:
- Capture free-form: allows you
to select with the mouse a picture element to capture
- Rectangular capture: Allows you
to precisely select an image
- Capture window, you can capture
only the currently active window
- Full screen capture, you can
capture the entire screen
After
capture, you get this:
To save the
capture, simply click on the disk at the top.
You can
highlight, or add an item with paint.
The Options
tab allows you to choose the color of the frame in rectangular capture mode or
delete the part which is not always desired, display the icon in the Quick
Launch bar etc.
Depending
on the version of Windows 7 / Vista , it is
possible that the tool is not installed, or the feature has been disabled by
yourself or by the manufacturer, in the case of Oem Windows for example.
(On Windows
7 it seems that the tool is not available on Starter versions.)
To verify
that the feature is activated:
Go to the "Start"
menu and click "Control Panel"
Click "Programs"
and then "Enable or disable Windows features"
And make
sure, as on the capture below, the feature "Tablet PC Components" is
checked.
